The ferry Isle of Lewis is operating on the Pentland Firth route between Stromness and Scrabster for a couple of weeks this month while the Serco NorthLink ferry Hamnavoe is south on refit.

The Hamnavoe left Stromness at noon Monday, bound for Rosyth for scheduled maintenance. According to NorthLink the vessel is due back in service on Wednesday, March 16.

A company spokesman added: “During this dry dock period the services on the Stromness to Scrabster route are being covered by MV Isle of Lewis, on charter from CalMac Ferries.”
