Orkney’s senior ladies’ marched into the Scottish District Cup final this afternoon as they saw off the challenge of Dunfermline Carnegie Ladies’ 1s 8-0.

Goals from Inga Kemp, Charlotte Thomson, Hannah Cromarty, and Aimee Drever mean that Orkney will have the chance to add to their 2013 and 2010 successes in the competition against Milne Craig Clydesdale Western Ladies’ 4s who ended the possibility of a Northern Isles final, beating Shetland 5-3.

The final is due to take place in Glasgow Hockey Centre on April 3.

The win, coupled with successes for the county’s rugby, football and netball players mean that is has been a weekend to remember for Orkney sport.
