New title focuses on the story of Stromness

A Stromness author’s new book, charting the history of his home town, will be launched today, Saturday.

Stromness: A History, by Bryce Wilson, traces the history of the town, from the 16th century, when sea trade transformed the fortunes of Stromness, through the ups and downs right through to modern times.

Published by The Orcadian, the book will be launched at The Orcadian Bookshop at 10am today, with the author present to sign copies of the new title.

From there, Bryce will move on to the Pier Arts Centre, in Stromness, from 2pm until 4pm.
