Orkney Book Festival gets under way

The second Orkney Book Festival gets under way today, Thursday, in various venues in Kirkwall and Stromness.

The four-day event has a wide range of events on offer, from sessions for young people to a comedy writing workshop, film evenings, readings, talks and a book fair.

Visiting authors as well as local writers are due to take part including: Struan Sinclair, Alison Miller, Magi Gibson, Ian Macpherson and Bryce Wilson.
