Orkney Museum closed for exhibition changeover
The Orkney Museum has closed temporarily while a new exhibition is set up, Orkney Islands Council has advised.
The need for social distancing and other COVID-19 safety measures mean that the building cannot remain open while work to install the art exhibition takes place.
The current exhibition – Between Islands – could be seen until 4pm on Friday, January 22, when the museum closed ready for the work to begin.
Part of a project devised by the Stornoway arts centre An Lanntair, it features paintings, drawings and prints that reflect the heritage and culture of Orkney, Shetland and the Outer Hebrides. It will still be available to view online at https://orkneybetweenislands.wordpress.com/
The museum will re-open on Tuesday, February 9 with the new exhibition in place
