Planning review committee bound for Sanday
The OIC’s Local Review Committee is holding one of its meetings in Sanday this week — only the second time a council meeting has been held outside the council chamber in Kirkwall.
The committee will meet at 11am on Thursday in the Heilsa Fjold Youth and Community Centre to look at two notices of review. Site visits will be carried out prior to the meeting, which is open to the public.
Chairman of the committee, Rob Crichton, said: “The visit by the planning committee out to Westray was well attended by the public, including a party of school children from Westray Junior High.
“Going out to the isles not only allows us to conduct a proper site visit, but also means that our isles residents have the opportunity to see what a council meeting is really like.”
Committee papers will be available at the meeting or on the council website.
