Stromness to face Rendall in this year’s Parish Cup final
This year’s The Orcadian Parish Cup final will be contested between Stromness and Rendall, a repeat of the 2016 fixture.
Stromness beat Holm 5-0 at the Rockworks in yesterday evening’s semi-final second leg, to win 11-1 on aggregate.
The scorers for Stromness, who will play their third consecutive final, were Owen Merriman, Ryan Chalmers, Ali Bain, Ryan McFerran and Trevor McConnachie.
Earlier in the day Rendall beat Sanday 3-1 to win 7-2 on aggregate.
The islanders gave themselves a glimmer of hope as they led 1-0 at halftime through a Gary Brown penalty.
However, Rendall dominated the second half, with strikes from Chris Hellewell and Gus Barclay (2) ensuring their place in the final.
The final will take place this Saturday, at Pickaquoy, with a 6.45pm kick-off.
