A bright young Orcadian talent will turn out in Scotland colours this weekend, as another busy weekend of sport rolls around.

Meanwhile, Orkney Football Club have a crunch top-of-the-table clash away to Golspie Sutherland.

Both teams have ambitions to lift the North Caledonian League title, with Golspie two points ahead on 35, having played a fixture more.

And while Invergordon are also in with a chance of lifting the crown, Orkney know that maximum points in their remaining two fixtures against Golspie and Bunillidh Thistle would see the islanders lift a first league title.

The match is set to kick-off at 1pm on Saturday, with supporters encouraged to travel with the team.

Orkney’s women rugby players, the Orkney Dragons, are also in action in a pivotal fixture, as they attempt to reach the final of the BT Women’s Bowl.

The Dragons face a tough test against BT Women’s National League 1 side Garioch, however, having beaten League 2 side Aberdeenshire Quines in the last round, confidence will be high.

The match takes place on Sunday at 12 noon.

At home, promotion-chasing Murrayfield Wanderers visit Orkney RFC in BT National League Division 3.

Having boosted their hopes of survival with back-to-back victories, Orkney go into the game with renewed belief, however, they will still be underdogs against a side in the midst of a five-team battle for promotion.

The match is set to kick-off at Picky at 2pm.

Orkney’s motocross season begins once more at Northfield in Burray, with racing, of all ages, beginning at 12 noon on Sunday.
