Council re-opens £1M Community Development Fund

Orkney Islands Council has re-opened its Community Development Fund (CDF) today to new applications, with a further £1M available to local community projects.

The original Community Development Fund for the New Millennium was established in 1999 with a £2M budget which supported a wide range of local projects.

Over the past 13 years of the CDF, the council has committed almost £3.7M to a wide range of local community projects.

Grant assistance of up to 50 per cent, up to a maximum CDF grant of £100,000, will normally be available towards projects with capital costs of at least £5,000.
