Deadline approaching for MasterChef competition
Local chefs have just over a week to get their entries in for this year’s Orkney Amateur MasterChef competition.
The deadline for entries is August 31.
Four people will be selected by organisers, Orkney Food and Drink, to pit their culinary skills against one another at September’s event.
The contest follows last year’s hugely popular Orkney Professional MasterChef competition, won by the Foveran’s Roddy Belford.
Hosted by BBC Radio Orkney’s Dave Gray and Robbie Fraser, the 2015 competition will be staged in the Orkney Theatre on September 30.
Orkney Food and Drink’s Edgar Balfour said: “Whilst we’ve already received a good number of entries for the competition, we’re keen to encourage as many folk as possible from throughout Orkney to put their names forward for consideration.
“Our hope is that we’ll have a sizeable pool from which to select our final four contestants, so we’d urge anyone who might still be thinking about entering to take the leap and apply.”
