Glasgow tournament for Orkney netballers

Orkney’s netball team is due to take part in the Scottish Cup Tournament in Glasgow today.

The competition, being staged at the Emirates Arena, will see around 24 teams from all across Scotland take part.

Orkney have been drawn in a group with Holyrood, Dunedin and Hamilton, with their first game set for 1.30pm.

The group standings will then determine whether Orkney will go on to compete in the Scottish Cup or the Evelyn Beattie Quaich.

Meanwhile, the Primary Netball Fun5z tournament is set to start today, running at Picky from noon.

Nineteen teams have entered this season’s competition, representing nine local primary schools.
