Rendall reached a historic first ever Parish Cup final this afternoon, surviving a Westray fightback in a 2-2 draw this afternoon.

Having drawn 0-0 in the first-leg, the West Mainland side put themselves firmly in control of the match with two first-half goals from Chris Purnell.

Requiring three goals to progress, Westray did mount a fightback however, with Edgar Thomson pulling a goal back before the break to give the Aaks hope of a first final appearance in six years.

Rendall were reduced to ten men early in the second-half with Graham Firth given his marching orders, however it wasn’t until the latter stages of the match that Westray substitute Jacob Bilner equalised. The ten men of Rendall held out however to spark joyous scenes as the parish basks in the triumph of a first ever final appearance.
