Orkney retain Lady Hamilton Cup
Orkney’s ladies hockey players retained the Lady Hamilton Cup on Saturday when they beat Shetland 3-1 in the annual senior inter-county clash. Played in Shetland this year, goals from Hannah Cromarty, Charlotte Thomson and Joanne Pottinger ensured that the Lady Hamilton Cup would return to Orkney for the twelfth consecutive year. Orkney’s Inga Kemp picked up the ‘man of the match’ award while Hannah Cromarty was voted Orkney’s ‘man of the match’.
Unfortunately there wasn’t to be a double cause for celebration as Orkney’s mixed senior inter-county team lost out to their Northern Isles counterparts 3-1.
