Public open days pencilled in at new multi-million pound hospital

Three public open days will be held at the new Balfour hospital ahead of its opening in June.

The Orkney public will receive a first glimpse of the county’s new £64-million hospital, The Balfour, with three open days pencilled in.

The days, during which 90-minute tours will take place, are on Friday, May 24, Sunday, May 26, and Monday, May 27.

NHS Orkney chief executive Gerry O’Brien said: “We are delighted to be able to show off our fantastic new facility to the people of Orkney. A lot of people have worked incredibly hard to bring this building to life and I am immensely appreciative of their hard work.”

The opening times are:

Friday, May 24: Between 10am-3pm and 5pm-8pm.

Sunday, May 26: Between 10am-3pm.

Monday, May 27: Between 10am-3pm and 5pm-8pm.

Attendees should report to the main entrance.
